Breakfast for Blokes outlines strategies for wellbeing

MEN'S health was on the agenda at Brothers Leagues Club last week.

The Breakfast for Blokes saw a packed house of men, and a few women, raise awareness for men's health. The breakfast was run by the Ipswich Hospital Foundation and local men's health not-for-profit Swich On.

The sold-out morning saw acclaimed keynote speaker Bruce Sullivan address the crowd.

Mr Sullivan, who had been presenting talks for nearly 30 years, spoke about the importance of keeping a positive attitude towards life and work and avoiding negative and cynical attitudes in order for men to stay happy.

The breakfast was also used as an opportunity by the Ipswich Hospital Foundation to launch its podcast service.

The group has begun releasing a number of downloadable recordings designed to reveal facts and interesting opinions about men's health from local health professionals, figureheads and sports stars.

The next Breakfast for Blokes will be held in May.
