Men wield machetes during robbery at Springfield Lakes hotel

POLICE are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a hotel in Springfield Lakes overnight.

Around 11.50pm, two men have entered the bar of the hotel on Springfield Lakes Boulevard and produced machetes and made demands for cash.

The employees have complied and handed over a sum of cash and the men have fled the business and were last seen on foot running towards Viewpoint Drive.

No one was physically injured as a result of the robbery.

The first man was last seen wearing a grey jumper, a grey beanie and had his face covered.

The second man was last seen searing a grey jacket and dark jeans.

Investigations are continuing.
