McGraw and Hill heading Down Under

AMERICA’S country music super couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will headline the Country Music Channel’s 2012 CMC Rocks the Hunter music festival.

The fifth annual festival, which has been extended to three days for the first time, will be held at Hope Estate for the second year running from March 16 to 18.

It will be Hill’s first concert in Australia, and the first time the power couple has performed together outside of North America.

They will close the festival on the Sunday night.

McGraw first visited Australia last year with his Southern Voice Tour, which included sold-out arena shows and a headline performance at CMC Rocks North Queensland.

Sydney fans were treated to a surprise appearance by Hill, who celebrated her birthday by joining her husband for a performance of their duet I Need You.

“We have been sitting on this news for a while and I’m thrilled that we can now announce it,” said promoter Michael Chugg.

“Tim’s show in 2010 was an absolute knockout and we can only expect another killer show when he takes the stage with his better half.”

The chart-topping couple have 70 million record sales, eight Grammy Awards and 46 No 1 singles between them.

Tickets go on sale Monday, August 15, at 10am with limited one-day tickets available.

Ticket prices remain the same as those for 2011 despite the extra day of music.

To book and for additional details go to the CMC Rocks website.
