Cooper Cronk the dog to put the bite on the Blues
SHORT with soft white fur, a blue collar and a friendly bark.
If you don't think this is an accurate description of Cooper Cronk, you would be wrong.
When Maryborough's Cronk family got their dog, a bichon frise and toy poodle cross, it didn't take long for them to figure out the perfect name for the gorgeous pooch.
Come Origin time the family, die-hard Maroon fans, are even more proud of their beloved pet and his talented namesake, Origin star Cooper Cronk.
David Cronk, proud owner of Cooper, said as far as Queenslanders were concerned Origin was "all about winning, all about beating New South Wales".
And after nine series victories over the past decade, the family has had plenty to celebrate.
While Cooper the dog is in perfect form for tonight's festivities, which will see his family gather around the television cheering every Maroon try, a cloud is still hanging over the fitness of the other Cooper.
According to reports out of the Maroons camp, the taller, less fluffy Cooper Cronk will be the one to make the final call on his injured ankle and whether he will line up for the match.
His ankle is set to be examined by the team's doctors who will assess how the injury is recovering.
But regardless of who is wearing Maroon tonight, the Cronks' support won't wane.
David said while his family, including wife Deanna and daughter Shanae, were pretty used to winning, they would support the team win or lose.
As for Cooper, he is backing the team to put the bite on the Blues.
