Markets back by popular demand

A MARKET that aims to attract people into the Ipswich CBD is back by popular demand.

The Top of Town “empty shop boutique market” was launched by Janette Adams, owner of Top of Town business Precious Packages, in early February.

It had a trial two weekend run and will now return every weekend until May 8 (excluding the Easter weekend).

The market will be run from 8am to 1pm on the corner of Brisbane and Ellenborough Sts.

Ms Adams said stallholders would offer everything from vintage wares to jewellery, poetry, art and wine.

She said the market aimed to showcase the creativity of local artisans, with new local stallholders always welcome.

“I would love to get fresh produce or local designers,” Ms Adams said.

“We had quite a few people who did jewellery, but people's tastes vary so greatly.

“Candles are also really popular.”

She said the response to the markets had been magical.

“People were excited to see that there were so many things to do on a weekend in Ipswich,” she said.
