Manager banned for a year

WHEN Robbie Marshall joined the Coastal KTM team this year, he thought he'd left the stresses of running his own operation behind.

That was until an incident at round two of the Australian Supercross Championship in Wollongong late last month earned his manager, Phillip Bond a 12-month suspension.

It means Marshall is relying on his brother Shane for mechanical support during race rounds, with the back of his ute their workshop.

"Because it was so wet at Wollongong they didn't want trucks leaving the arena," Marshall said.

"They said 'You can't move the truck till tomorrow'.

"They'd already let some teams leave and our truck is one of the lighter ones.

"Phil said, 'You're not going to pay my night's accommodation are you'. They said 'No'.

"He had to be somewhere so he backed out and they banned him for 12 months."
