Man seriously hurt after crashing 'stolen' motorbike

POLICE say a man is in a serious condition after crashing an alleged stolen motorcycle at Beenleigh on Sunday night.

Around 11.40pm, an unmarked police car followed the motorcycle from Nerang Street at Waterford until losing sight of the vehicle at Martens Street at Beenleigh.

A short time later, officers located the motorcycle after it had crashed into a fence on Martens Street.

The 31-year-old rider sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Police allegedly located a quantity of amphetamines, a knife and suspected stolen property at the crash scene.

Investigations are continuing.
