Man left with stab wound following early morning attack

POLICE are investigating the events surrounding the stabbing of a 28-year-old man on Redbank Plains Rd at Goodna.

The man told police he was walking alone between Brennan and Stuart Sts about 1am on Friday when he was approached by another man.

That man punched his victim in the face and stabbed him with an unknown weapon in the torso before leaving on foot.

The victim was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

Police spoke to the victim at the PA and he provided them with some information.

"As part of the investigation we're trying to find out whether or not the victim knew his attacker, what the weapon was and anybody who's got any information please get in contact with Crime Stoppers," a police spokesman said.

"Police are conducting investigations with the victim and known associates to ascertain what occurred in this instance.
