Man injures spine in bike crash

AN IPSWICH man was airlifted to the PA Hospital after a motocross accident at the Queensland Moto Park near Boonah yesterday afternoon.

The 21-year-old man was attempting a small jump when the bike landed awkwardly on its front wheel just after 2pm.

He was thrown from the bike, over its handle bars, causing him to tumble a short distance.

He was flown to hospital by the RACQ CareFlight rescue helicopter.

It is believed the man was wearing all the required safety equipment when the accident occurred.

The RACQ CareFlight helicopter arrived at the PA Hospital about 4.45pm.

The man was reportedly in a stable condition with a spinal injury.
