Man seriously injured in 4WD crash

A LOCKYER Valley man was left with serious injuries when his four-wheel-drive overturned near Helidon this morning.

The 54-year-old was driving west along Ma Ma-Lilydale Road at Lilydale - about 60km west of Ipswich - in the Lockyer Valley, when he lost control and his vehicle flipped several times.

The crash was reported about 6.30am.

Police said the four-wheel-drive came to rest on its wheels in a paddock next to the road.

The driver suffered suspected spinal injuries and was rushed to Toowoomba Base Hospital.

There were no other people in the vehicle.
