Man drinks, goes in search of woman, then loses his car

A MAN on a night out in Hervey Bay has had his very own "dude, where's my car?" moment.

A police spokesman said the bizarre chain of events began with a Gympie man going to sleep off the effects of alcohol and finished with him losing his 2007 silver Landcruiser.

He said the man met a woman in the car park of the Kondari Hotel at Urangan and allowed her to drive his vehicle with him as a passenger.

When the woman got out of the car about 2.30am on Sunday, telling the man she was going to see someone, his night quickly worsened.

"The victim then got out of the car to see where she was but became disorientated," the spokesman said.

"When he returned from looking for her, the car was gone."
