Man in court over knuckledusters

A PAIR of knuckledusters and some marijuana have landed a man in court.

Police pulled Joel Stephen Mark Etter, 23, who was driving a white BMW at Goodna on March 8 and saw him trying to hide something.

The officers told him to put his hands on the steering wheel and then get out the car.

Etter emptied his pockets, pulling out a clip-seal bag of green, leafy material, which was marijuana.

A search of his vehicle revealed a set of knuckledusters in the centre console.

Ipswich Magistrates Court was told Etter had "found the bag (of cannabis) at Woolies" earlier in the night.

Magistrate Michael Quinn warned Etter knuckledusters had only one purpose, and could do an "enormous amount of damage".

Etter pleaded guilty to possessing dangerous drugs and unlawfully possessing a weapon, and was fined $500.
