Man to face court after stabbing mate in hip

A MAN has been charged after allegedly stabbing a mate in the hip during a fight in the Brisbane suburb of Capalaba.

Police have charged a 29-year-old man over the unlawful wounding.

It will be alleged that around 9.30pm, two men were involved in a verbal argument at a Saint Lukes Court residence.

The argument allegedly escalated into physical fighting, where one of the men has used a knife to stab the other in the hip area.

A 29-year-old Capalaba man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment and observation.

The other 29-year-old Capalaba man has been charged with one count of wounding and is scheduled to appear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court on March 10.

Police confirmed the men were known to each other.
