UPDATE: Two teens charged after Auckland St bashing
SATURDAY, 3.09PM: POLICE have charged a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy after an alleged violent assault at South Gladstone yesterday evening.
It is alleged that at about 5.30pm, a group of teenagers were walking along Auckland St when they became involved in an argument with a man inside a house.
A "number of persons" from this group then entered the yard of that house and assaulted the man, according to police, kicking him to the ground and hitting his arm with a bat before fleeing on foot.
Two boys and a girl were later arrested at an address in Off Lane.
A 17-year-old boy from Barney Point and a 15-year-old boy from South Gladstone have since been charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm and public nuisance.
Investigations are continuing.
FRIDAY, 8.02PM: THREE people* are in police custody this evening after a man was reportedly dragged from a house on Auckland St and bashed in the front yard.
The man was taken to Gladstone Hospital at 6.08pm in an unknown condition, reportedly with head injuries.
A crime scene has been set up at the Auckland St address and two others across South Gladstone and Barney Point.
The three people in custody have not yet been charged in relation to the incident and are understood to be assisting police with their inquiries.
Detectives from the Gladstone Criminal Investigation Branch are interviewing witnesses and scenes of crime officers are investigating.
