Man crushed by tree dies

A MAN in his 70's has died at Lismore Base Hospital after a tree fell on him at Eureka.

The Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter was tasked to attend to the man and flew out of the Lismore helibase at noon.

A doctor and a paramedic on board the helicopter treated the man, who was unconscious when they arrived at the scene.

The man was flown to Lismore Base Hospital in a critical condition.

Police confirmed the man passed away in hospital just before 4pm.

Details of the cause of the incident remain unknown.
