Man critical after motorbike crash

A 41-YEAR-OLD Ipswich man remains in a critical condition in a Brisbane hospital after a motorcycle crash at Laidley at the weekend.

Police were called to the crash at Laidley on Saturday afternoon.

A police spokeswoman said early investigations indicated the Redbank Plains man was travelling east on RosewoodLaidley Road between Southern Road and Old Grandchester Road when he crashed.

The spokeswoman said reports indicated he was going around a right-hand bend when he veered to the left, went on to the gravel on the shoulder of the road, lost control and collided with a dirt embankment.

“He suffered serious head and internal chest injuries,” she said

A spokeswoman for Princess Alexandra Hospital said yesterday the man was in a critical but stable condition in the intensive care unit.

The police Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
