Man in court for not buying train ticket

FAILING to buy a ticket has landed a rail commuter on a six-month good behaviour bond.

On July 11 George Robert Norris Hopkins, 22, was stopped by police at Oxley train station and asked for his ticket.

He told them he didn't have one, or a Go Card.

He pleaded guilty at the Ipswich Magistrates Court yesterday to evading a fare.

The court heard he had some history of not paying fares. He was placed on a $100 good behaviour bond for six months.
