Man charged for 'squeezing Hervey Bay woman on buttock'

A HERVEY Bay woman was eating fish and chips on the Seafront Oval when a man allegedly squeezed her on the buttock and made a rude remark.

The 23-year-old woman was with children at the time when a 55-year-old allegedly squeezed her on the left buttock.

The victim alleges the man said "I'm a cheeky bugger aren't I?" before running off to his car around 7pm.

When police later found the man in his vehicle, he was allegedly seen without pants on.

The man, who is believed to be from near Bundaberg, is in police custody and is expected to appear in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
