Man, 52, charged over film star quiz
A MAN who wanted to know why two detectives looked like they should have been in a Hollywood movie has been placed on a good behaviour bond for his trouble.
Leslie Andrew Schelker, 52, of Drinan, appeared in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to public nuisance, obstructing a police officer and possessing a knife in a public place.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Fiona Ward said two detectives were trying to enter a shop on Bourbong St about 3.50pm on September 27 when Schelker approached them.
"He said: 'Can I ask you a question? How come you look like you are in the movies?'," she said.
Snr Const Ward said the man then continued to have an "inappropriate conversation" with the detectives who warned him to move on four times.
She said when police asked him to remove all his possessions they noticed a pocket knife hanging around his neck.
Defence lawyer Allan Keleher said Schelker did not remember what was said during the conversation.
Magistrate Jennifer Batts placed Schelker on a $200 good behaviour bond for three months.
