OPINION: Luxury resort brings a wealth of opportunity

A LUXURY resort in our region is another step closer with buyers lining up to secure a piece of a $550 million development that will soon start to take shape at Brookwater.

Construction on the Dusit Thani Golf and Spa Resort is due to begin next month - bringing with it a significant boost for the local economy.

The project will create hundreds of jobs during construction and once the resort is operating, which will open doors for the city's young people who are looking for work.

The resort's facilities will include a day spa, conference centre, restaurants and private clubs, along with luxury residential apartments overlooking the Brookwater Golf Course.

As reported in today's edition of The Queensland Times, more than 100 of the two and three-bedroom apartments have been snapped up since hitting the market weeks ago, reflecting high demand to invest in a project that will elevate Brookwater's position as a luxury destination.

A development of this magnitude is set to attract thousands of visitors to the region and lead to business and job opportunities that will benefit the people living and working in this fast-growing area.
