Clock Park to undergo transformation for NAIDOC week

FOR the first time NAIDOC Week celebrations will be held at Lowood.

Clock Park will be transformed tomorrow into an action packed, adventure park with plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

From 9am-2pm, the community will be entertained by Toogoolawah band the Huntsmen.

They'll also be able to take part in a variety of activities including a jumping castle, face and nail painting, kite making, story-telling, bark painting as well as traditional dance and music, bush tucker, damper making, boomerang and didgeridoo craft.

Somerset mayor Graeme Lehmann encouraged people to attend the free event.

"It's going to be a fantastic day with lots of talented people from across the Somerset region performing and creating works of art," he said.

"Toogoolawah band Huntsmen will be performing on the day and they are sure to be a crowd pleaser.

"I would encourage all residents to attend the celebration which is part of NAIDOC Week activities," he said.

NAIDOC Week is aimed at increasing recognition and awareness about indigenous culture across Australia and bringing the community together to celebrate as one.

All activities and food during NAIDOC Week celebrations at Lowood tomorrow are free.
