Lowndes gears up for charity ride to help RSPCA

SUPER car champion Craig Lowndes is taking to two wheels to help RSPCA Qld by taking part in the "Ruff Rider 500" charity motorcycle ride being held on March 7.

RSPCA Qld CEO Mark Townend said the money raised from the event would go toward their increasing veterinary costs.

"Over the past two years we've made a commitment to go the extra yard with the more complex veterinary operations. Orthopaedic and eye operations are now the norm rather than the exception. In the end it's all about giving animals a second chance," he said.

The ride will gather at the new Animal Care Campus at Wacol at 7am for an 8am departure.

It will travel through Nobby, then up through Toowoomba to Crows Nest with the final stop in Fernvale before heading back to Wacol. Once registered for the ride the personal sponsorships can be raised from the workplace, family and friends in the days leading up to the event.
