Lost friend rides

FRIENDS of Malcolm Kamp have paid tribute to the popular cyclist by riding together to his grave.

Mr Kamp, 52, was killed last June when the bike he was riding and a truck collided at the Kholo Rd exit on the Warrego Hwy at Brassall.

The Ipswich Cycle Club organised a 90km memorial ride to Mr Kamp's burial site at Lowood on Monday.

Club president Scott Kirton said the club wanted to pay tribute to Mr Kamp and his family, and "remember the difference he made in people's lives".

"Ipswich Cycle Club and friends of Malcolm Kamp paid tribute to his memory with a 90km ride to Lowood cemetery," Dr Kirton said.

"We hope to repeat the ride again next year."

He said the Yellow Jersey support van, driven by Lyn Taylor, was much appreciated by cyclists as the temperature plummeted.
