Horses and race-goers in fine form on race day

HORSES and race-goers were in fine form at the Lockyer Race Club race day last Sunday.

Lockyer Race Club vice-president Steve Brennan said hundreds gathered at Burgess Park for the seven-race program on a good track.

"It was good racing and a beautiful day," he said.

"We would like to thank our sponsors for the day."

Despite a successful race day, race two of the day saw a jockey bucked off of her horse which was being loaded into the barriers.

Ruby Ride, who was to ride Hell's Kitchen, was transported to the Toowoomba Base Hospital to check for back injuries.

Mr Brennan said the club was now looking forward to their next race day, the Lockyer Valley Regional Council race day on Saturday, August 30.
