Loyal group of tech fans line up for fresh Apple

THEY say appearances can be deceiving and the empty space outside this Telstra store at Sunshine Plaza belied the demand for the latest iPhones.

Nobody was waiting for the doors of the nest Telstra store in the Plaza to open so they could grab the latest iPhone 5s and 5C when the doors opened.

However, a queue of 25-30 people had stacked up outside the Telstra store in the centre's "telephone alley" to be one of the first to get a new phone when the doors opened early at 8am.

Telstra Count Wide area manager Kris Carver said there had been strong demand among Apple aficionados keen on the 5S for the updated software and camera, and its fingerprint scanner.

Mr Carver said early demand for the 5S and 5C was similar to that for the iPhone 4S.
