Two men lucky to walk away from light plane crash

PARAMEDICS have confirmed two men in their 50s received minor cuts to the head after their light plane made an emergency landing in Nathan Park off Beenleigh Road this morning.

According to Queensland Ambulance Service, the two men were taken in a stable condition to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

There is not yet any word on whether the two men are from the Brisbane area.

ABC Brisbane has reported the plane lost one of its wings after striking a goal post on the soccer field.

EARLIER:

THE two on board a light plane that crashed in a Brisbane field this morning have somehow managed to escape without injury.

Police learned of the impending crash at 7.20am when the pilot contacted authorities to warn that the plane was having to make an emergency landing.

About 10 minutes later, it came to a stop on the sporting fields on the corner of Nathan Road and Dew St in the Brisbane suburb of Runcorn.
