LETTER: We can't cop more electricity bill rises

ANNASTACIA Palaszczuk and Mark Bailey continue to treat Queenslanders like cash cows.

Queensland families will pay $317million more for electricity thanks to the Palaszczuk Labor Government's extreme renewable energy policy.

Labor's flawed renewable energy scheme will also increase household, business and industry electricity prices by $1.3billion.

It is not the LNP coming up with these facts and figures.

It is the independent Productivity Commission, which recently released its report into electricity prices.

Ms Palaszczuk has since announced plans to expand electricity rebates for only a select few Queenslanders.

Essentially, refugees, asylum seekers and those on the dole who hold a Commonwealth Health Care Card will get their electricity bills subsidised, while hard-working Queensland families will pay more.

Under Ms Palaszczuk and Mr Bailey's plan, Queenslanders will pay more and receive less, as is always the case with Labor.

In 2009, it was Anna Bligh who sent electricity prices skyrocketing by 42%.

Ms Palaszczuk has also argued to bring back a carbon tax that would add hundreds of dollars to every electricity bill in Queensland.

Annastacia Palaszczuk and Labor are back to their old tricks again: higher electricity prices and a carbon tax simply to appease inner-city interest groups. Queenslanders can't afford to pay more for electricity.

Are judges getting the big picture?

IT has been brought to my attention that the judging for the Christmas lights competition is not that well organised.

Do the judges actually go inside the properties to see how well entrants have their displays or simply take photos from the front?

If that is so, do you believe that is fair for all those entrants who put in a lot of hard work for the competition and the benefit of the community to enjoy?

I would hate to think that Scrooge is part of the competition!
