LETTER: Toy Run success a team effort
I WISH to publicly acknowledge some of the people who helped make the 2016 Ipswich Toy Run the most successful in the 20 years it has been held here.
The Queensland Police Service. Without them, this event is impossible to stage.
We have had fantastic support from the QPS in running the Toy Run for well over 10 years and this has allowed us to grow to what we have today. Our gratitude is extended to Commissioner Ian Stewart, Inspector Keith McDonald and Superintendent Bill Warwick for their direct support.
The Brassall Shopping Centre. Having the use of the front carpark on the second Sunday of December each year is a massive commitment and truly appreciated by not only by us the organisers but the attending participants.
It showcases our event to the passing traffic and affords us a very safe and controllable location to prepare and gather the bikes.
The Salvation Army. Whilst we are focused on raising money for this very worthwhile organisation it contributes to our efforts by supporting us throughout the year in many ways. Our gratitude goes to George and Linda and Captain Greg Pack (Ipswich City), The Salvation Army Band (Bundamba) and the many helpers of the Army.
Along with so many other Ipswich businesses (and a few from outside our boundaries) that gave us support by way of a donation to make the Toy Run very attractive for those that participate.
