LETTER: Our taxi drivers need more training

Re: "Ipswich cabbies travelling well" QT 11/7.

TODAY my husband and I went to St. Andrews Hospital to bring home a friend.

Another lady was checking out at the same time, and had ordered a taxi.

She was obviously very weak and was still dressed in pyjamas and slippers.

The driver just sat in his seat, and did not attempt to help her.

My husband asked her if she needed some help.

She replied, "Yes please", so he opened the door for her, and helped her in, then he put her luggage in the back seat.

If we had been a bit earlier we would have offered her a ride home.

There is definitely a need for some more driver training.
