LETTER: Do your own local litter patrol

A SHOPPING bag full of little bits of plastic of all descriptions as well as a few plastic bottles, metal cans and discarded fast food containers was picked up this morning on my walk around the block.

Most of these were in the gutter and so would have ended up being swept into the storm water drains then into our river and then maybe into the ocean off Brisbane.

This collection included only a few of the cigarettes I saw!

Come on Ipswich. Check your street gutters regularly and help our waterways to become healthy.

Don't let the few who do litter spoil our wonderful world.
