Lee Kernaghan leads 2016 Golden Guitar nominations
LEE Kernaghan tops off a big year with eight Golden Guitar nominations.
The country music veteran, who topped the ARIA charts with his acclaimed album Spirit of the Anzacs, is the most nominated of this year's 75 recognised artists.
More than a year in the making, Spirit of the Anzacs is based on the stories and letters of Australian diggers and spent four weeks at the top of the ARIA Albums chart.
Kernaghan is closely followed by Troy Cassar-Daley, who received seven nominations for his album Freedom Ride.
Beccy Cole and Catherine Britt each received six nods, while Gympie's rising star Caitlyn Shadbolt is up for Best New Talent alongside fellow X Factor alumni Brothers3 and last year's Starmaker winner Mickey Pye.
