YOUR SAY: Leasing off profitable assets makes no sense

CAN anyone explain to me why the Queensland Government is going to lease government businesses to the private sector? For a business to be attractive to a private investor it has to be capable of returning a profit.

If a business is capable of being profitable, why doesn't the government hire someone CAPABLE to run that business and return the money raised to the Queensland coffers? Is this too involved for a dummy like me to understand or is this just another rort for friends of the government? I believe that a private committee should look at this without any political agenda to decide the best course of action.
