Leap from bedroom window as Deuchar home burns

TWO people were lucky to escape from their Deuchar home uninjured this morning after a fire broke out just after 4.30am.

A Queensland Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said one of the occupants jumped from the bedroom window of their one storey home to call firefighters.

Fire trucks from Allora and Warwick attended the scene, as well as a Rural Fire Brigade water tanker and two council water trucks.

About 41,800 litres of water was dumped on the blaze, with firefighters also using water out of the nearby dam.

The cause of fire is unknown at this point, and investigations are continuing.

The spokeswoman said firefighters were still on the scene investigating what started the blaze.
