Laidley pair face drug charges

TWO people have been charged after police uncovered a home amphetamine laboratory at Laidley.

A large quantity of amphetamines, marijuana and cash was also seized when Ipswich detectives searched the Range Crescent residence on Thursday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mick Trezise said officers from the State Drug Squad’s Illicit Laboratory Investigation team had entered the home to dismantle the drug-making equipment and take chemicals for analysis.

A 48-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man were arrested and have been charged with offences, including producing, trafficking and possessing dangerous drugs.

Both accused will face Ipswich Magistrate’s Court on February 25.
