Knights hope for 'Ezy' home win

NEW Ipswich Knights coach Danny Mchenery welcomes the opportunity to play a rescheduled football match at Bundamba tomorrow night.

Re-signing another consistent goal scorer in Emmanuel "Ezy'' Peter has given the Knights a boost ahead of their opening Football Queensland Premier League match of the new season.

The Knights were to play Southside Eagles at home on Friday before the game was washed out.

Building his new-look team, Mchenery was eager to get his side on the field of play.

"It will be nice to get our first game out of the way,'' he said.

"It's an unknown but hopefully we are strong enough to take them.''

The return of Peter adds to a youth-laden side up front this season.

The Knights have also secured former National Premier Leagues midfielder Lincoln Rule, providing much-needed quality and leadership.

"He's been great, leading up to the game,'' Mchenery said of Rule.

The Knights will be without tenacious defender Devon Munn, who is completing a suspension carried over from last season.

Tuesday: FQPL (7pm) - Ipswich Knights v Southside Eagles at Eric Evans Reserve, Bundamba.
