Kindy kids' fundraising effort off to good start

THE Kids down at Goodstart Early Learning Centre at Camira have done their bit to help a little girl fighting the battle of her life.

After hearing about Springfield three-month-old Mackenzie Norrish's heart condition and her parents' battle to give her the medical treatment she needs, families down at the child care centre were keen to help.

As reported in the QT in June, Mackenzie suffers from aortic stenosis and required surgery to repair her tiny heart valves.

She underwent her first open heart surgery on May 20, but will have to go back for another operation as it was deemed too risky to repair all the valves in one go.

Mackenzie's mum Michelle Ranson and dad Mick Norrish have been doing it tough and long-time friend Melissa Williams has led the campaign to give them a hand.
