Kids in for a spooky treat

GHOSTS and goblins will be walking the streets of Ipswich later this month as local kids celebrate Halloween.

A safe trick or treat day has been set up to allow kids to dress up and visit businesses throughout the CBD on Sunday, October 30.

Halloween fun day organiser Cassie Booth said children were already looking forward to the day.

"They're all really excited," she said.

"All the kids who came last year are coming back and they are bringing their friends."

The day will see the dressed-up trick or treaters visiting 15 businesses in the Top of Town and Riverlink.

Ms Booth said the day would provide a fun activity for the children in a safe environment.

"Last year we started the Halloween fun day, and this year a lot of other businesses in the CBD wanted to get involved," she said.

"We wanted to provide a safe trick or treat activity for Ipswich."

Following the trick or treating the children will be heading to Under the Stairs at the Old Flour Mill on Brisbane St for a glow stick dance party.

The event will start from the Old Flour Mill at 10am on October 30 with no booking required.

The trick or treating will cost $5 per child.
