Just the ticket for three forgetful footy fans

THREE Toowoombaites had looked forward for some time to travelling to Townsville to see a footy game at the new Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

They had booked last year but COVID put an end to their plans.

However, the trio got to fulfil their dreams and flew to Townsville for the Cowboys v Dragons match.

Being Dragons supporters just added to the thrill.

The three set out from their hotel on The Strand for an afternoon of betting (see losing) at the Cowboys Leagues Club before waltzing around the corner to the stadium.

It was only then they realised they’d left their match tickets back at the hotel.

The extra taxi fare put a bit of a dampener on the day but they eventually fulfilled their plans and enjoyed the game.

UPSTANDING EMPLOYEE

INNERCITY Toowoomba office worker limped into work complaining of a swollen knee which prevented him from sitting at his desk.

He had visions of taking it easy until resilient boss turned up with a stand-up desk.

HOLE LOT OF HELP

KEARNEYS Spring mum found her two young sons had dug a hole in their beautifully kept lawn and told them to fill it back in.

Four-year-old refused to help five-year-old brother and mum warned he could go stand in the corner.

Five-year-old protested: “That’s no good Mum, he can’t do anything from the corner”.
