Junior fun to launch new season

VIGORO: The Ipswich Vigoro Association is launching its new season with a fun day at the East Ipswich grounds on Saturday.

A range of free activities for the kids are being held, along with a sausage sizzle and junior games in the morning.

The Midgees play at 8.30am-9.30am before an under 16's match from 10am to noon.

"The fun day aim is to raise awareness of vigoro in the community and also give families an opportunity to come and enjoy a free morning of fun whilst having the opportunity to learn more about vigoro,'' association president Deanne Lawrie said.

"Hopefully we can get more girls, boys and women involved in playing vigoro. It's also an opportunity to celebrate the start of the season for our regular members.''

Any new player receives free registration, which for juniors is normally $60 and seniors $90.

Lawrie said they do have to pay a $10 insurance fee and there are weekly games fees from $5-12 depending on the age of the person and the club they play for.

The East Ipswich vigoro grounds are in Joyce Street, East Ipswich.
