THE Gatton Criminal Investigation Branch has charged a Laidley man with six break and enter offences.

34-year-old Cameron John Stewart was charged with four counts of break and enter and two counts of attempted break and enter.

He appeared in the Ipswich Magistrates Court yesterday and was remanded in custody.

Gatton police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Tom Missingham said a quantity of items that were believed to have been stolen were located in his possession.

He said the break and enters occurred in Laidley between August 28 and September 2 and one in South Brisbane on August 29.

Police would like to locate the owners of the items of jewellery they have recovered.

Stewart will appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court again on September 25.
