Jets must contain Cowboys pair to win

WHEN these two teams last clashed the Jets got away to a flying start then withstood a Northern Pride comeback to win 26-22 at North Ipswich.

The Pride has scored 307 points through 54 tries this season, compared to the Jets' 456 points through 83 tries.

The Pride is coming off a 42-24 loss to the competition leaders, Townsville Blackhawks.

Ipswich's last game was a 52-6 thrashing of Central Queensland.

The Jets this year have scored 36 percent of their tries from more than 50m out.

Pride players the Jets have to be most wary of are hooker Jason Roos, half Sam Obst and powerful forwards Patrick Kaufusi and Ben Spina, who are both contracted to the North Queensland Cowboys.

Roos is the Cameron Smith of the competition, moving around the field positioning runners and plotting the demise of markers.
