Jamie in fine voice to win over audience

JAMIE is fighting fit for his Voice Kids battle.

The Palmwoods teen performs on the reality singing show tonight and he's up against two of the strongest competitors, Ethan and Isabella.

"I was quite excited to have the chance to sing with some really amazing singers," Jamie told The Daily.

"At first I didn't really like the song but then I looked at the song and thought 'I've got some really nice parts in this'."

But the 14-year-old is in much better shape than he was for his blind audition, before which he was so sick he had to see a doctor.

"When I came back for my battle I was much better," he said.

"I was really ready to go."

The show's battle rounds see three singers from each of the coaches' teams perform a song together in front of the studio audience.

"For the battles you have to win the audience over," Jamie said. "For me that was the hardest thing. I've not done stuff like that before."

The celebrity coaches can only pick one singer from each three-way battle.

Jamie said he enjoyed working with his coach Delta Goodrem again. Goodrem has stayed in regular email contact with Jamie ever since his blind audition.

"Going back and working with Delta was absolutely amazing," he said.

"She emailed me again the other day, which is really good. We've been chatting."

The Voice Kids airs tonight at 7.40pm on Channel 9/WIN.
