It's time to send in the clowns again

WHEN was the last time you had a belly laugh?

I have spoken a number of times in this column about the need to bring some laughter back into our lives.

Many of us are starting to find that we have fewer reasons to joke and smile and enjoy our lives.

We are all on a short bus trip and it's only as we get towards the end of the journey that we start to take stock of our lives and begin to count the years we have remaining.

If, like me, you have now passed the half-century you will understand that comment exactly.

In our early years we were all invincible. We never thought about growing old and we never looked for the gate, we just jumped straight over the fence.

I was sent a video link yesterday from a chap who is now in his 80s. He is a man who loves life and is heavily involved in theatre.

He also questioned why we have all become so serious and he asked where have all the great comics gone?

In past years we had wonderful comedians entertaining us. Do we have any now?

Maybe it's time again to send in the clowns.

The link is a little long, but it's worth typing in and turning up the volume:

Be assured it is not a virus.
