  • Baby black tip whaler shark found in the middle of the road
  • Biologist said it was likely caught by fishermen and dumped or fell from the vehicle

UPDATE 4.32pm:

CQUniversity Marine Biologist Andrew Irving said the black tip whaler - found on Norman Rd - would have been caught by fishermen recently.

"There's a stab wound in it, and it's been gutted," he said.

By the size of the shark Mr Irving said it was a baby.

3.06pm: A DEAD shark has been spotted on a Rockhampton road today.  

Photos of the shark have been shared around social media today, after motorists spotted it on Norman Rd.   

It is unconfirmed who put the shark on the road.   

This comes after reports of seven small sharks washed up on Farnborough Beach last Friday.   

There are no reports to confirm if these incidents are related.
