Irish dancer takes on world's best
University student Hannah Wass will compete at the 2017 World Irish Dancing Championships in Dublin with the support of a young performing artist bursary.
A veteran of nine state and seven national championships, Miss Wass has been dancing for 15 years.
Arts spokesman Cr Charlie Pisasale said the 20-year-old would do Ipswich proud at the world titles in April.
"Having already competed internationally, Hannah will return to the world stage where I'm sure she will be a great ambassador for the city," he said.
"As a council we're happy to support her efforts with the presentation of a $500 young performing artist bursary."
