Workshops on track for appeal day

THOMAS fans can contribute to the Queensland flood appeal at the Day out with Thomas 2011 Flood Appeal Day on Sunday at The Workshops Rail Museum.

The museum will be waiving normal entry to the event in favour of a donation to the Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal at the gate.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to make a donation at any register in the museum while at the event.

The Workshops Rail Museum director Andrew Moritz said the day was a great way to contribute to an important cause.

“The North Ipswich Railway Workshops and the Museum were unaffected by the recent floods in Ipswich,” Mr Moritz said.

“They have been a significant part of Ipswich for over 140 years and we feel strongly that we should support our local community in this time of need.

“This day will celebrate the end of the event and farewell Thomas and The Fat Controller, while giving families the opportunity to support those who are going through a very difficult time.”
