Ipswich line on track after truck strike on rail bridge

UPDATE: Train services on the Ipswich line between Redbank and Ipswich stations have resumed following a bridge strike earlier this morning.

However TranslInk advise that the 11.35am Ipswich-Rosewood train is delayed by 20 minutes following today's disruption.

 

EARLIER: Ipswich rail commuters will be delayed for at least 30 minutes following a bridge strike this morning.

A truck has hit the underside of the rail bridge at Bergin St, Booval about 11.30am, with QR inspectors en route to check the severity of the damage.

Police have advised that they have a crew on standby for traffic control if repairs are required.

Translink has advised commuters that trains in both directions on the Ipswich and Rosewood lines are suspended between Ipswich and Redbank.

The delay is expected to last at least 30 minutes.
