Steggles factory tour for Roosters

SOME of the NRL’s brightest stars descend upon Ipswich tomorrow when the Sydney Roosters squad arrives for a four-day stint in the region.

And where else would the Roosters begin their Ipswich tour?

The largest Steggles chicken factory in Australia, located in Wulkaraka, of course.

The Roosters have sent a 25-man squad to Ipswich, a predominantly young team punctuated with experienced campaigners.

Aside from chicken-related activities, the Roosters team, which includes grand final stars Anthony Minichello, Joseph Leilua and Daniel Conn, will be preparing for a trial match against the Ipswich Jets.

Conn became famous after allegedly hooking-up with Hollywood starlets Tara Reid and Paris Hilton.

Last season’s Dally M player of the year Todd Carney will travel with the team for the four days but will not play due to injury.

As official partners with the Ipswich Junior Rugby League, Roosters players will be visiting junior clubs in the city, helping with their sign-on days and conducting clinics.
