Ipswich stars in friendship softball series

IPSWICH is well represented at the coming international series in western Sydney next week.

Joshua Harding (Deebing Heights) and Jarrod Russell (Brookwater) are making the final preparations to compete for Queensland at the 2015 Softball Australia International Friendship Series (IFS).

Harding and Russell are part of the 2015 Queensland Men's Friendship Series Team.

The IFS is an annual tournament held at Blacktown, NSW for the past 14 years, with a view to providing a high quality development opportunity for elite youth players.

This year's IFS welcomes teams from New Zealand and USA.

Along with the international flavour that these teams will bring, their presence also adds to the standard of competition, which grows in stature each year.

Many of Australia's current U19 and Open players have taken part in this program on their way to national team selection.
