Ipswich schools get a teacher aide funding boost

IPSWICH schools will benefit from a boost in prep teacher aides.

Ipswich MP Ian Berry said six Ipswich schools would receive a boost in teacher aides at Prep level.

Mr Berry said students at Amberley District, Brassall, Goodna, Kruger, Raceview and Redbank Plains state schools would benefit from the Newman government's education boost.

"The early formative years at school are the most important in terms of a child's learning and that's why the government is investing in more teacher aide hours in Prep classrooms," he said.

"More personalised attention will give our children the chance to improve their reading, writing and social skills at what are such a formative time in their development."

He said the extra staffing will help teachers already doing a wonderful job.
